Job Summary
The Club Manager is responsible for the overall operational, sales, and service performance of the fitness club. This role ensures a welcoming and safe environment for members and staff, delivering an exceptional member experience while achieving business and revenue goals. The Club Manager leads and develops a high-performing team, oversees daily club operations, and actively drives marketing and membership sales initiatives. This is a high-energy leadership role for someone who thrives in a sales-oriented, community-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Recruit, hire, train, and develop staff, including Assistant Managers and Personal Trainers.
- Manage employee performance, resolve staff concerns, and conduct disciplinary or termination actions in collaboration with the Regional Director and HR.
- Submit new hire, termination, and payroll paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Schedule front desk staff and ensure sufficient coverage during operating hours.
Customer Service & Member Experience
- Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, guests, and staff.
- Ensure superior customer service standards are consistently met by all team members.
- Resolve member issues and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Handle new member sign-ups, tours, and onboarding.
- Facilitate Personal Training product integration during point-of-sale interactions.
Operations & Facility Management
- Maintain overall cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
- Ensure club safety for employees and members.
- Monitor and communicate equipment repair needs promptly.
- Oversee and participate in daily cleaning duties, including assigned zones.
Sales & Marketing
- Achieve established membership and personal training sales goals.
- Track Personal Training revenue and report on key metrics.
- Organize local events to increase brand awareness and generate memberships.
- Train staff on current marketing promotions and club initiatives.
Financial Oversight
- Review and analyze monthly financial statements.
- Develop and implement action plans to improve financial performance.
Other Duties
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the success of the broader business objectives.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or higher is preferred.
- Previous management experience required, preferably in the fitness or hospitality industries.
- Experience with membership or service-based sales strongly desired.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to operate and demonstrate fitness equipment safely and effectively.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Certifications Required
- CPR/AED certification may be required depending on local regulations.
