POSITION SCOPEGA Group is seeking experienced finance leaders to join its CFO Advisory Practice in Dallas or Houston, Texas. This is an evergreen opportunity designed to build a bench of high-caliber professionals who can serve in interim, project-based, and advisory leadership roles for middle-market and private equity-backed companies.Depending on experience and client need, professionals may be deployed as a Vice President of Finance/Controller or in a comparable senior finance leadership capacity. Engagements may involve stabilizing a finance organization during leadership transitions, supporting a newly acquired portfolio company, preparing for an audit or transaction, improving reporting and forecasting, strengthening accounting processes and controls, or leading finance transformation initiatives.The successful candidate brings both public accounting experience and meaningful in-house corporate finance or accounting leadership experience. They are comfortable operating hands-on in fast-paced, high-accountability environments and can quickly build credibility with management teams, private equity sponsors, lenders, auditors, and other stakeholders.ESSENTIAL DUTIESGA Group’s CFO Advisory Practice serves as a strategic finance partner and trusted advisor to middle-market and private equity-backed companies. The team provides specialized financial advisory services across the business lifecycle, including interim finance leadership, office of the CFO support, finance transformation, financial reporting and modeling, technical accounting, audit readiness, deal and M&A advisory, and PE portfolio company advisory.Responsibilities will vary by engagement, level, and client need, but may include:Serve as interim VP of Finance,Controlleror senior finance leader for client organizations.Lead and improve monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, accruals, consolidation, and management reporting.Developtimely,accurate, and decision-useful reporting packages for executive leadership, boards of directors, lenders, and private equity sponsors.Support budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, working-capital analysis, and financial modeling.Assess finance and accounting functions,identifyprocessand control gaps, and implement practical improvements across people, processes, systems, and reporting.Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, documentation, and governance practices.Manage external audit preparation and execution, including audit schedules, PBC coordination, financial statement support, and issue resolution.Advise clients on U.S. GAAP, technical accounting matters, financial reporting requirements, and accounting policy implementation.Support transaction-related work, including pre-transaction accounting cleanup, quality-of-earnings readiness, diligence coordination, carve-out support, and post-close integration.Partner with private equity operating teams and portfolio company leadership to establish reporting disciplines, improve visibility into performance, and support value-creation initiatives.Lead, coach, and develop client finance and accounting personnel as appropriate.Evaluate and support enhancements to ERP systems, reporting tools, and finance technologies.Communicate clearly and confidently with client executives and other stakeholders, translating complex financial matters into practical recommendations and action plans.Contribute to the growth and collaborative culture of the CFO Advisory Practice.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in accounting required.CPA strongly preferred; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.Progressive accounting and finance experience, with the capability to perform effectively at the Controller and/or VP of Finance level.Prior public accounting experiencerequired, ideally including audit, assurance, transaction advisory, accounting advisory, or similar client-service experience.Meaningful corporate or in-house finance and accounting experiencerequired, including leadership responsibility within a company finance function.Experience supporting private equity-backed companies and working directly with PE sponsors, operating partners, boards, or lender groups strongly preferred.Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial statement preparation, close processes, internal controls, audit support, and financial reporting.Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial modeling, and operational finance preferred.Demonstrated ability to assess ambiguous situations, prioritize urgent needs, and implement sustainable solutions in dynamic client environments.Strong proficiency with Excel and familiarity with ERP and financial reporting systems.Exceptional communication, interpersonal, project-management, and problem-solving skills.Professional presence and the ability to establish trust quickly with executives, finance teams, auditors, and other stakeholders.Must reside in and be authorized to work in the Dallas or Houston, Texas area. Ability to travel locally and periodically as required by client engagements.
