Surgical Tech NC Apprentice PRN

• To assure effective and timely cleanliness of the operating rooms, maintain adequate inventory and supply par levels, and transport patients, specimens, equipment and supplies as directed.
• Must be enrolled in the CCC Surgical Tech Program.

Professional

• High school education or equivalent.
• BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required within 90 days of hire

• Ability to accurately follow directions.

Physical

• Stamina – Capable of standing/walking for long periods of time (2-4 hours).
• Strength – Minimally capable of:
  • Free lifting 50 pounds.
  • Pushing stretchers/beds under loads of 200–500 pounds, with assistance.
• Reflexes/Agility – Minimally capable of:
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, during shift.
  • Responding to sudden, unexpected movements of patients.
  • Responding quickly and effectively to emergencies; i.e., chemical spills (medications, IV fluids), infectious exposures, patient contact, needles/syringes, waste handling (bodily fluids), medical equipment.

Hearing and Visual Acuity Dexterity – Handwriting skills to facilitate documentation for patient care, handling of equipment, and laboratory specimens. Visual acuity/color perception that permits patient assessment, monitoring
