Position Description: About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to support preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of a modern tractor and trailer fleet. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in technical accuracy, safety, and keeping equipment reliable and road-ready. You will work on a variety of systems and engine platforms in a stable, team-oriented shop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on diesel engines, tractors, trailers, and related equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Service engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and emissions systems
  • Complete routine services (oil changes, lubrication, battery testing)
  • Document repairs accurately and follow safety protocols
  • Communicate effectively with the maintenance team
Technical Knowledge Areas (Experience valued not all required)

Engines and Diagnostics
  • Diesel engines (Cummins, Detroit, Paccar)
  • Fuel, turbo, cooling, and emissions systems (DPF, SCR, EGR)
  • Electronic diagnostics using OEM software (Paccar DAVI, Cummins, Insite, Eaton, Service Ranger, Detroit DDL)
Brakes and Drivetrain
  • Air and hydraulic brake systems, ABS
  • Manual and automated transmissions (Eaton Fuller, Allison, UltraShift)
  • Drivelines, differentials, and clutches
Electrical and Chassis Systems
  • 12/24-volt electrical systems, starters, alternators, ECMs
  • Suspension and steering (air ride, leaf springs, kingpins)
  • Tires, wheels, bearings, and torque procedures
Trailers and Safety
  • Trailer brakes, ABS, lighting, suspension
  • DOT inspections and OSHA-compliant safety practices
Required Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • 1+ year of diesel, mechanic, or forklift maintenance experience (or trade school equivalent)
  • Hands-on mechanical experience required
  • ASE certification preferred but not required
  • Must own a basic set of tools
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors as needed
  • English communication skills required
