Full Salary Range: $77,530-$105,982

- Complete regular preventative maintenance that ranges from oil changes to hydraulic systems servicing light and heavy duty equipment
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including but not limited to various types of pumps, motors, valves, gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, simple and complex hydraulic systems, and various electronic systems
- Operation of a wide variety of equipment and tools such as drills, grinders, Mig, Tig, stick, and gas welding
- Ability to review and understand equipment schematics
- Ability to fabricate and weld parts as needed
- Ability to learn and utilize the City’s Fleet Management software
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labor and work in all weather conditions
- Strong communication skills with staff at all levels of the organization
- Must be 18 years old
- 4 + years’ experience as a mechanic with broad exposure to a variety of trucks, diesels, and specialized road equipment, highly preferred
- ASE certification and EVT certification in automobiles, heavy trucks, ambulance and fire apparatus is highly desirable
- Have a good driving record and must be able to attain a CDL License Class “A” within 6 months of employment
- Possession of a complete set of mechanical tools in a roll-away box
- Be willing to work alternate work-hour schedules for winter, weekends, and when workload dictates
