Job Description

Project Manager - Implementation Research
Job Title: Project Manager
Location: Hybrid – Hawai’i
Position Type: Full-Time
Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The Project Manager reports to the Implementation Researcher and manages a community-led, school-based initiative addressing youth substance use among Indigenous and underserved populations. The Project Manager collaborates with internal teams, community partners, and policy leaders to ensure culturally responsive, equity-driven implementation processes. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project deliverables, maintaining data systems, leading quality improvement and professional development efforts, and guiding dissemination through digital and media platforms.

Essential duties:
  • Manages and supports implementation, curriculum development and adaptation, and systems-level analyses of a community-led, school-based effort to address youth substance use primarily among Indigenous and often underserved populations.
  • Works closely with IRD staff, Baker Center staff, school-based partners, community-based partners, policy leaders, and external consultants to accomplish project goals, while providing oversight of project teams to ensure that all deliverables are completed on time and align with the objectives of all collaborators.
  • Leads 1:1 and small group calls, partner meetings, and multidisciplinary work groups from an equity and culturally-informed lens.
  • Manages and supports data systems and maintenance, including data collection, management, and outcome reporting.
  • Coordinates quality improvement activities, meetings, trainings, and other activities within the department. Develops and implements professional development opportunities and individualized plans based on project staff and community partner needs.
  • Oversees dissemination and marketing efforts specific to the project, including website development, videography, and social media efforts.
  • Brainstorms opportunities to maximize project connections and outputs, especially in a manner that best supports children and families in benefiting from project objectives.
Qualifications
Experience:
  • Requires at least two-years of experience with program management and implementation or quality improvement efforts.
  • Experience and comfort with public speaking, providing supervision, and presenting information to a wide range of collaborators and leadership, especially from an equity and culturally-informed lens.
  • Ability to conduct data analysis, develop data reports, and develop and manage database systems and dashboards.
Training:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Google Drive, and project management platforms (e.g., Asana).
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, education, child welfare, and/or juvenile justice systems, with experience in school-based work, substance use, and/or work supporting Indigenous and often underserved populations strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and familiarity of implementation, quality improvement, and/or public health methodologies and frameworks (i.e., PDSA, CFIR, Systems Mapping).
