Job Description

The Opportunity

At Potomac, we’re not for everyone—and that’s by design. We attract people who think critically, communicate clearly, and execute with urgency. People who care deeply about their work and don’t need handholding to make things happen.

We’re a boutique tactical asset manager with a differentiated product that serves the independent broker-dealer and RIA channel

Headquartered in Bethesda, MD, we combine institutional-grade investment expertise with a quantitative process that is Built to Conquer Risk®.

Summary

We're looking for a driven and resourceful Talent Acquisition Specialist to partner directly with our HR Director in owning the full-cycle recruitment process. This role is laser-focused on attracting and securing top talent — from building pipelines and sourcing candidates across multiple channels to shepherd candidates through each stage of the hiring process. You'll be a true partner in the recruitment realm of our rapidly growing company.

If you thrive on the hunt for great candidates, love building relationships, and get excited about filling roles efficiently and thoughtfully, this is your seat.

Key Responsibilities

Full-Cyle Recruitment

  • Help manage the end-to-end recruitment process for all open roles in partnership with the HR Director — from job posting through offer acceptance
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and success profiles
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, debrief sessions and feedback collection across hiring teams
  • Manage candidate communication throughout the process, ensuring a positive experience at every touchpoint

Source & Pipeline Development

  • Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, job boards, professional networks, employee referrals, and industry-specific communities
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and anticipated hiring needs
  • Identify and engage passive candidates through creative outreach strategies
  • Research and recommend new sourcing channels, tools, and platforms to expand reach
  • Attend relevant job fairs, networking events, and community hiring initiatives as needed
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the ATS (Rippling)
  • Track key recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source of hire, pipeline health) and share regular updates with the HR Director
  • Draft and post compelling job descriptions in collaboration with the HR Director and hiring managers
  • Support the HR Director in continuously improving recruiting processes, templates, and workflows
Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruiting (in-house or agency)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Demonstrated success sourcing candidates across multiple channels, including passive outreach
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms and LinkedIn Recruiter
  • Familiarity with sourcing tools such as Juicebox AI, Gem, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Collaborative by nature; comfortable working as a true partner rather than independently owning an entire HR function
  • High sense of urgency balanced with attention to quality

Preferred

  • Experience recruiting in the financial services industry

Potomac is not your typical asset manager. We cut through the industry BS with brutal transparency and an obsession with execution. If you’re looking for a slow pace and low volume, this isn’t for you.

If you want to drive, build, and scale, this is your shot.

Compensation

$75,000-$90,000 per year commensurate with experience

Benefits:
  • Medical insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Health savings account option
  • 401(k) & other retirement benefits
  • Paid maternity leave
  • Paid paternity leave
  • Commuter benefits
  • Disability insurance
  • Paid time off
