Job Description
Avondale House is seeking energetic, compassionate, and dedicated individuals to join our Adult Individualized Skills and Socialization (ISS) Day Program as a Life Skills Coach. In this rewarding role, you will support adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in developing independence, building meaningful life skills, and actively engaging in their communities.

- 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
What You'll Do
As a Life Skills Coach, your day will include:
- Providing individualized coaching and support with daily living skills, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, household tasks, social skills, and community participation.
- Implementing engaging activities that promote positive behavior, personal growth, and enrichment.
- Supporting participants in developing communication skills, social interactions, and community engagement.
- Assisting with medication administration and monitoring health-related needs in accordance with individual care plans.
- Collecting and documenting participant progress, behavioral observations, and service outcomes accurately and consistently.
- Safely transporting participants to activities and community outings while fostering positive and educational experiences.
- Collaborating with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary team members to provide individualized, person-centered support.
- Facilitating skill-building opportunities across a variety of settings to encourage independence, self-advocacy, and confidence.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or related conditions is required.
- Previous experience in caregiving, home and community-based services, or direct support roles is preferred.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) or alternative communication methods is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
- Ability to assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care and medication administration.
- Background in behavioral health, social work, psychology, or a related field is beneficial.
