Sr Staff Mixed Methods User Researcher

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Staff Mixed Methods User Researcher in Canada.

This is a senior-level research leadership role focused on shaping product and strategy through deep human insight, rigorous mixed-methods research, and cross-functional collaboration. You will operate at the highest level of research impact, leading complex and ambiguous studies that directly influence product direction, business strategy, and executive decision-making. The role blends qualitative depth with quantitative rigor to build a holistic understanding of user behavior, needs, and motivations. You will partner closely with product, design, engineering, data science, and marketing teams to ensure research meaningfully informs roadmap priorities. Beyond individual studies, you will help define research standards, elevate methodological excellence, and mentor other researchers across the organization. This is a high-impact opportunity to shape how research is practiced while advancing user-centered innovation at scale.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will lead strategic research efforts that shape product vision and elevate organizational decision-making:

  • Lead high-complexity, high-impact research studies across the product lifecycle, setting a high bar for methodological rigor and strategic relevance.
  • Drive executive-level influence by translating user insights into actionable recommendations that inform product direction and long-term strategy.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, design, engineering, data science, and marketing teams to identify research opportunities aligned with business priorities.
  • Integrate qualitative and quantitative data sources, including behavioral analytics, surveys, interviews, and market insights, into cohesive user narratives.
  • Define and advance standards for responsible AI use in research workflows, ensuring ethical, accurate, and effective application of AI tools.
  • Mentor and elevate other researchers by improving research practices, identifying capability gaps, and guiding methodological decisions.
  • Contribute to shaping organizational research strategy and ensuring user-centered thinking is embedded across teams.
Requirements

This role requires deep expertise in mixed-methods research and proven experience influencing product and business strategy at scale:

  • 8+ years of applied research experience, including significant leadership roles in complex, fast-paced tech or SaaS environments.
  • Strong expertise in both qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, concept testing) and quantitative approaches (e.g., survey design, data interpretation).
  • Proven ability to lead generative and evaluative research across multiple stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Experience influencing executive stakeholders and driving adoption of research insights into product and business decisions.
  • Strong judgment in prioritizing research efforts, balancing competing demands, and advising on methodological approach and scope.
  • Deep familiarity with AI tools in research workflows, including the ability to critically evaluate outputs and define responsible usage standards.
  • Recognized ability to elevate research practice, introduce innovative methods, and mentor senior and junior researchers effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams through evidence-based storytelling.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary aligned with senior research leadership roles in Canada
  • Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision plans
  • Retirement savings plan with employer contributions
  • Generous paid time off, including country holidays and additional wellness days
  • Annual home office stipend to support remote work setup
  • Professional development budget for continuous learning and growth
  • Quarterly well-being stipend and mental health support resources
  • Generous parental leave and family support benefits
  • Flexible remote work environment across Canada.
