Job Description
· Respond to customer inquiries regarding pick ups, deliveries, POD’s and general shipment status.
· Actively update necessary information into our operating system.
· Proactively communicate potential service delays to our customers.
· Preparation and regular updating of customer specific reports.
· Bid on spot freight via online portals and emails.
· Enter loads into TMS systems and confirm notes about the status of shipments.
· Track pickup and delivery arrivals/departures of carriers. Communicate any delays or issues to appropriate contact.
· Set pickup and delivery appointments.
· Collect required paperwork, PODs.
· Communicate with customers, carriers and colleagues respectfully.
Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years experience in logistics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Extremely detail oriented, highly organized and an ability to handle multiple tasks. Knowledge of transportation business is an asset. Knowledge of Mircosoft Word & Excel and AS400 considered an asset
