Job Description
Madison Medical Sports & Wellness
Orthopedic Surgeon — Sports Medicine
About Us
Madison Medical Sports & Wellness is a physician-led, AI-forward multidisciplinary practice delivering premium out-of-network care across 15+ specialty service lines — sports medicine, regenerative therapies, IV infusion, hormone optimization, allergy treatment, and our Athletic Recovery Center. We're scaling aggressively, building out our MSO (Management Services Organization) structure, and investing in the physicians who will own that growth alongside us.
About the Role
Madison Medical is seeking a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon with a sports medicine focus to join our physician-led, multidisciplinary team. You'll diagnose and surgically treat sports-related injuries and orthopedic conditions — from arthroscopic knee and shoulder procedures to cartilage restoration and joint preservation — while collaborating with our regenerative medicine and Athletic Recovery Center teams to deliver integrated, premium care.
This is an ownership-track opportunity. As we build out our MSO structure, equity participation is available to physician partners ready to grow with Madison Medical rather than simply work for it.
Our Facility
Madison Medical operates under an active, state-licensed ambulatory care facility license, with a fully equipped, on-site fluoroscopy suite. That means X-ray and diagnostic imaging, workup, and fluoroscopy-guided injections can all happen the same day, in-house — no sending patients elsewhere to get imaged, diagnosed, or treated.
What You'll Own
• Surgical & clinical care — Diagnose and treat sports injuries and orthopedic conditions, including ACL and meniscus repair, rotator cuff repair, cartilage restoration, joint preservation, and arthroscopic procedures.
• On-site imaging & image-guided injections — Order and review same-day X-ray and diagnostic imaging and perform fluoroscopy-guided injections in our on-site suite, so patients are diagnosed and treated in a single visit.
• Regenerative integration — Partner with our regenerative therapy team to offer combined surgical and non-surgical (PRP, orthobiologics) treatment pathways.
• Athletic Recovery Center collaboration — Work with our athletic trainers and recovery specialists on return-to-play protocols and post-operative rehabilitation.
• Referral network growth — Build relationships with athletic trainers, coaches, and referring physicians, with dedicated support from our business development team.
• Practice building & mentorship — Help shape the sports medicine service line as we scale to multiple sites.
Required Credentials
• MD required — must hold an MD degree; DO candidates will not be considered for this role
• Active, unrestricted New Jersey medical license (or ability to obtain one)
• Board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) — required, no exceptions
• Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Sports Medicine strongly preferred
• Fellowship training in Orthopedic Sports Medicine from an ACGME-accredited program
• Current, unrestricted DEA registration
• Clean malpractice, licensure, and disciplinary history
Compensation & Partnership
• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience and case volume
• Quarterly performance bonuses tied to production and practice growth
• Equity / shares available as part of Madison Medical's MSO (Management Services Organization) build-out — a genuine ownership opportunity for physicians who want to grow with the practice, not just work for it
• Access to Madison's premium, out-of-network, multidisciplinary patient base and referral network
• State-of-the-art equipment, dedicated support staff, and full-time business development support
• A path to clinical leadership as we expand to multiple sites
