Job Description
Job Summary
The duties and responsibilities of the Overnight Concierge / Security Guard include serving as the overnight receptionist for
the Community, monitoring the front entrance and designated areas, assisting residents, families and visitors, responding
to resident and building emergencies, maintaining required logs, and communicating important overnight information to the
appropriate team members.
Essential Responsibilities
Maintain a professional and welcoming presence at the front desk throughout the overnight shift.
Receive and assist Community guests, family members, visitors and team members.
Answer phones and keep logs as directed.
Monitor and control access to the Community in accordance with established procedures.
Verify visitors and maintain accurate visitor and overnight logs.
Monitor the front entrance, lobby and other designated areas for unusual or concerning activity.
Conduct routine security and safety rounds of designated areas of the Community as assigned.
Report safety hazards, security concerns, maintenance issues or unusual activity to the appropriate supervisor or
department.
Communicate with and support residents, families, visitors and team members.
Respond to resident requests and contact the appropriate care team when assistance is needed.
Recognize, respond and/or report resident emergencies immediately.
Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), when trained and authorized.
Follow established emergency procedures for fire alarms, medical emergencies, severe weather and other emergency
situations.
Contact emergency services when necessary and provide assistance until emergency personnel arrive.
Maintain accurate records and logs of overnight incidents, visitors, calls, rounds and other required activities.
Receive and appropriately document overnight deliveries and packages in accordance with Community procedures.
Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident, personnel and Community information.
Maintain the privacy of records, conditions and other information relating to residents, team members and the Community.
Communicate important information and unresolved issues to the incoming shift during shift change.
Maintain a clean, organized and professional front desk and lobby area.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the President.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Have strong organizational skills as well as the ability to follow-up, be detail-oriented, multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
Have the ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or stressful situations.
Have strong observation and attention-to-detail skills.
Have strong customer service and communication skills.
Have basic computer and telephone skills.
Have the ability to work independently and follow established safety, security and emergency procedures.
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in security, concierge, hospitality, customer service, senior living, healthcare or a related field
preferred.
Previous overnight or security experience preferred.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIRED
• Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, bending, stooping/squatting and reaching.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to conduct routine rounds throughout the Community.
Ability to respond promptly to emergency situations.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
