Job Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage an integrated communications plan, digital content strategy, editorial calendar, channel plans, and production roadmap aligned with organizational goals and audience needs.
  • Lead storytelling from concept through distribution, including campaign briefs, written content, video production, photography, social content, presentations, livestreams, and content repurposing.
  • Establish messaging, editorial, and channel standards along with content workflows, approval processes, publishing protocols, community-management practices, and escalation procedures.
  • Manage the day-to-day performance and governance of social media and coordinate content across web, email, paid, earned, executive, and internal communications channels.
  • Supervise, coach, or direct staff, interns, freelancers, agencies, and vendors; set priorities, provide creative feedback, and ensure quality and deadline accountability.
  • Partner with leaders and subject-matter experts to identify stories, develop key messages, prepare contributors or spokespeople, and translate complex topics into clear content.
  • Draft and edit announcements, talking points, web copy, newsletters, and campaign content.
  • Support proactive media relations and respond to routine inquiries in coordination with communications leadership; escalate sensitive or high-risk matters promptly.
  • Own communications measurement and reporting, including goals, dashboards, campaign analysis, audience insights, testing, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Manage assigned budgets, production schedules, contracts, equipment, licenses, and vendor relationships in coordination with procurement and finance practices.
  • Ensure content meets brand, accessibility, privacy, records, copyright, consent, and platform requirements.
  • Monitor media coverage, online conversations, and emerging issues; coordinate timely responses and evaluate new platforms or tools based on audience value, risk, capacity, and return.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, digital media, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of progressive communications experience, including substantial responsibility for digital content, social media, multimedia, or content marketing.
  • Demonstrated success developing communications and digital content strategies and leading integrated campaigns from planning through measurement.
  • Strong portfolio of written, video, social, and multimedia work, with the ability to provide informed creative direction and produce content directly.
  • Experience leading projects and directing staff, freelancers, agencies, or cross-functional teams, with strong stakeholder-management and budget skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of media relations, analytics, content management, social publishing/listening, accessibility, copyright, privacy, and communications risk management.
