Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Residential Program Directors, the PM / Weekend Adult Residential Supervisor is responsible for providing on-site leadership, supervision, and operational oversight during evening and weekend hours across two licensed adult Social Rehabilitation Facilities (SRF) located on the same campus.
This position acts on behalf of the Residential Directors during assigned shifts when directors are not typically on site. The Supervisor ensures the safe, structured, and compliant operation of the programs; provides real-time supervision and guidance to Mental Health Workers (MHWs); oversees evening and weekend operations; responds to crises or urgent situations; and ensures continuity of care, communication, and documentation.
The role is essential to maintaining stability, accountability, and consistency during off-hours and serves as a key link between direct-care staff and program leadership.
Specific Responsibilities
Staff Supervision & Leadership:
- Act as a role model and on-site supervisor for PM and weekend Mental Health Workers.
- Provide direction regarding task assignment, shift priorities, and adherence to program expectations.
- Support, coach, and mentor staff to ensure appropriate interactions with clients, families, and authorized representatives.
- Address staff performance, conduct, or boundary concerns during assigned shifts using sound judgment, documentation, and consultation with Residential Directors as appropriate.
- Assist with coordination of shift coverage, including responding to last-minute call-outs and contacting on-call or replacement staff as needed.
- Assist with coverage of MHW shifts when necessary.
- Operations & Program Oversight
- Oversee evening and weekend operations to ensure safe, orderly, and therapeutic program functioning.
- Monitor facility cleanliness, safety, and physical plant concerns; respond to emergencies as appropriate and report issues to leadership.
- Support smooth transitions and communication between day, PM, and weekend shifts.
- Assist with auditing documentation and facility logs (e.g., shift notes, incident reports, medication records).
- Client Support & Safety
- Work directly with adult residents with serious mental illness, often with co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Respond to crises, behavioral escalations, safety concerns, and urgent situations in accordance with training, policy, and best practice.
- Support implementation of individualized support plans during evening and weekend hours.
- Maintain appropriate communication with clients’ conservators or responsible parties as delegated and within program protocol.
- Foster a respectful, structured, and supportive residential environment.
- Medication & Health Oversight
- Maintain active oversight of evening and weekend medication processes, ensuring compliance with nursing direction, physician orders, and program protocols.
- Verify accuracy, completeness, and timely execution of medication-related tasks by staff.
- Communicate medication-related concerns promptly to the Nurse and Residential Directors.
- Monitor and report client health concerns as appropriate.
- Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure compliance with Community Care Licensing (CCL) regulations, DMH requirements, and Agency policies
- Document and report incidents, unusual occurrences, injuries, medication issues, or complaints accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure staff complete required documentation appropriately.
- Participate in internal meetings, trainings, and transitions as required.
- 21 years of age or older.
- AA or BA in behavioral health, or other closely related fields. Other experience and education may be substituted for the degree(s) referred to above, at the discretion of the Agency.
- Some experience working directly with clients who have a severe mental illness.
- Experience with administrative functions, ability to use office equipment and computerproficiently.
- Maintain valid First Aid certifications.
- Must maintain criminal background clearance (FBI/DOJ) as required by CCL
- Physician's Health Screening Report and TB test clearance.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, as evaluated, anddetermined by the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Ability to work in a home-like and therapeutic setting
- Ability to communicate appropriately (oral and written) with all levels of personnel,internal and external to the Agency.
- Able to facilitate and coordinate multiple activities and functions needed for completion.
- Able to lead the team directly based on policies and procedures.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing,pulling, reaching, and walking for periods.
- Excellent decision-making ability.
- Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision and direct the team of staff onyour shifts.
- Work well under pressure.
- Willing to work on-call hours when needed.
- Must be consistently reliable.
- Fast learner and ability to work as part of a team and lead the way during the absence of the director.
