WolfRayet designs and manufactures custom gas catalytic infrared and High Radiant heating systems for industrial manufacturing. Our equipment is used throughout North America in advanced curing, drying, and thermal processing applications.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Assembly & Field Service Engineer to lead the electrical assembly, wiring, testing, startup, and field support of our infrared oven systems.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both shop work and customer interaction. Responsibilities include building control panels, wiring complete systems, assisting with field assembly, commissioning equipment, troubleshooting electrical and PLC issues, and supporting customers during installation and startup. Travel is expected approximately 20–30% throughout North America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble and wire industrial control panels, power distribution systems, and field devices from engineering drawings.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, PLC wiring diagrams, and component layouts.
  • Perform complete electrical assembly of custom infrared oven systems.
  • Assist with mechanical and electrical field assembly during customer installations.
  • Commission new equipment and verify proper operation before customer acceptance.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, PLC, instrumentation, and control system issues in both the shop and the field.
  • Provide technical service and support to customers during startup and post-installation.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with UL508A, UL/CSA, NEC, and company quality standards.
  • Perform functional testing and system validation prior to shipment.
  • Maintain electrical documentation, update redline drawings, and support continuous product improvements.
  • Assist Engineering with electrical design improvements and bill of material verification.
  • Support UL documentation and inspection requirements.
  • Train customers on equipment operation, controls, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project management throughout each project.
  • Follow all company safety procedures while maintaining exceptional workmanship.

Requirements: Education & Certifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Electrical Systems, or related field preferred.
  • UL508A experience strongly preferred.
  • OSHA-10 or OSHA-30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout North America.
Experience
  • 3–5 years of industrial electrical assembly or automation experience.
  • Experience with industrial control panels, relay logic, PLC systems, VFDs, HMIs, and temperature control systems.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience commissioning industrial equipment preferred.
  • Experience installing equipment at customer facilities is highly desirable.
  • Experience with gas-fired or infrared heating systems is a plus.
Skills & Attributes
  • Excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Comfortable working independently in both shop and field environments.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical safety and code requirements.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Professional communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.
