We're looking for an HR Generalist to support our Grand Rapids plant, with a clear path to grow into an HR Business Partner (HRBP) role over time. This is an on-site, hands-on position for someone who wants to build a well-rounded HR career — starting with the fundamentals of employee relations, engagement, recruiting, and onboarding, and growing into broader strategic partnership with plant leadership as your experience deepens.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their HR career who wants real ownership, direct exposure to plant operations, and a company invested in developing you into a more senior HR role.
What You'll Do
• Serve as a trusted, approachable point of contact for employees and plant leadership on day-to-day HR matters
• Support employee relations — helping resolve concerns, answering policy questions, and escalating issues appropriately
• Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried roles at the plant, from job posting through offer
• Own the onboarding experience for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming start
• Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and plant culture efforts
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with company policy and applicable employment law
• Partner with plant leadership on workforce needs, and grow into a broader HRBP role as you develop — including exposure to workforce planning, performance management, and leadership coaching support
Why Join Us
• A clear, supported growth path from HR Generalist to HR Business Partner
• Direct, meaningful impact on the employee experience at our Grand Rapids plant
• A company actively investing in people — through leadership development, employee recognition, and a genuine focus on culture
• Competitive pay and benefits
Requirements:• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 0–3 years of HR experience; manufacturing or plant environment experience a plus, but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and sound judgment — you're comfortable having direct conversations and know when to ask for guidance
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A genuine interest in growing your HR career — this role is designed to develop into an HRBP position over time
• Familiarity with HRIS/payroll systems a plus (we use Paylocity)
