Location Pastoral Ministry Center
Work Schedule 8:30am-5:00pm Monday – Friday, before and after hours, weekends and evenings as needed.

Summary: The Construction Superintendent position will have considerable experience in managing subcontractors, overseeing all aspects of the construction process and communicating with project management and executives. The position requires planning, coordinating, and supervising personnel, subcontractors and vendors ensuring that they complete the work on time and within budget, OSHA standards, with quality workmanship and to the Archdiocese’s policies/standards. Demonstrated experience must be shown in both areas of site improvements and vertical construction. The ideal candidate will also be flexible and willing to work on various or succeeding projects as needed.
Requirements:Position Responsibilities:
• * Work closely with the Director for Construction & facilities, project management, and other internal contacts to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
• *Performs site assessments to estimate materials and time needed to complete construction, renovation, and/or repair projects.
• *Serve as the primary representative at the field level for the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
• * Maintain safety on projects to OSHA standards. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
• *Blueprint reading, critical path scheduling, conflict resolution.
• * Hands-on field experience, documenting activities at the job site level of projects.
• *Ensure that all building codes, and owner’s quality requirements are met.
• * Strong blueprint reading, critical path scheduling, conflict resolution, and the ability to operate modern construction and scheduling software.
• *Provide superior customer service to all stakeholders including bishops, employees, team members, and the public.
• *Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing.
• *Schedule, assist, and monitor independent contractors.
• Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education
o High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience
o Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in commercial construction field experience.
o Experience in construction and building renovations, new construction, finish outs, engineering or related field.
o Experience in identifying and analyzing necessary repairs and renovations to existing structures.
o Oversight experience of contractors and vendors.
• License and Credentials
o Reliable transportation
o Valid driver license
o Valid Vehicle Insurance
o OSHA-10 or ability to obtain with 90 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with residential construction.
• Experience in a field management role.
• Experience consulting and advising clients on construction needs.
• Experience in working independently and as part of a construction management team.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to learn construction and project management software.
• Assessing building conditions and inspecting existing facilities conditions.
• Knowledge of order of construction from planning and pre-construction to construction and close out.
• Advanced knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, masonry, painting, and electrical work.
• Knowledge of proper paint and varnish application techniques and procedures.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures, and techniques.
• Knowledge of elevators, escalators, and automatic door systems.
• Knowledge of framing and roofing.
• Knowledge of basic carpet and tile installation and repair procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in buildings, mechanical maintenance and repair.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff suppliers, vendors and the general public.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Working conditions are primarily on job sites with occasional work in the PMC building with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, dust, dirt, grease, and noise.
• Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.
• Must have good written and verbal skills.
• Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Travel Requirements:
Travel requirements for the position includes 60% within the Archdiocese of San Antonio and 0% overnight.
