The City of Stockbridge is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Administrative Assistant. This role offers the opportunity to support daily City operations, assist elected officials with administrative needs, coordinate key initiatives and events, and help deliver efficient services that support our organization and the Stockbridge community.
Class Characteristics: This is the full-performance classification level.
Major Duties:
- Coordinate and support Council-sponsored initiatives, programs, and events, including planning, logistics, setup, and breakdown.
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Assistant to Mayor and Council, including preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
- Develop engaging social media content, promotional flyers, and marketing materials to support City initiatives and community events.
- Collaborate with internal departments, the Public Information Officer, and external partners to coordinate events, communications, and schedules.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, assisting during meetings and events, and maintaining a professional office environment.
- Maintain organized and confidential records, manage office supplies and inventory, and assist with daily administrative operations to ensure efficiency.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional customer service, time management, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong computer proficiency, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with elected officials, City employees, and the general public.
- Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, take initiative, follow instructions, and maintain an organized and efficient office environment.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalency required supplemented by one (1) to (2) years of experience performing administrative support and event planning duties in an office environment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent communication skills. This position will require evenings and weekends.
