Systems Administrator - 26-014 – San Diego, CA

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members at NIWC PAC – Seaside in the Point Loma area of San Diego, CA.

The NIWC Pacific Information Operations Department has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator to work on a highly challenging and rewarding project supporting the Navy’s Information Operations cutting-edge technologies. This is a high-tech effort to design and develop technologies that can perform global missions. This role is primarily focused on Linux systems administration and AWS cloud infrastructure platform support within highly secure environments.

Requirements:

  • Must have a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II cert, i.e., Sec+ CE.
  • BS with focus in Engineering/Computer Science/Information Systems/Cybersecurity desired or related field and 5+ years’ experience as a Systems Administrator and 2+ years’ experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems and commercial software packages (COTS).
  • Experience with effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
  • Experience with performing daily system administration duties of backups, maintenance on applications and OS, patching, tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing VMware vCenter and ESXi environments including VM provisioning, host management, snapshots and troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience administering Linux operating systems (RHEL/CentOS/)
  • Experience supporting AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, IAM, VPC, S3 and security groups.
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with Windows Server Active Directory, group policy, user accounts and access and DNS services.
  • Experience with basic network connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Linux systems.
  • Ability to recognize and clearly report relevant information.
  • Previous experience within the U.S. Department of Defense highly desired.
  • Expected travel up to 10%. One to two trips a year.

Salary Range: $135K-$145K

Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGAR’s salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
