This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Sales Manager (Performance Marketing Audits) based in Canada.
As a Technical Sales Manager, you’ll lead the technical strategy behind performance marketing audits, RFPs, and high-impact new-business opportunities.
You’ll translate complex advertising-account data into clear, evidence-based recommendations that connect directly to client business goals.
Working across sales, performance, strategy, creative, and data teams, you’ll coordinate expertise and turn it into compelling client-facing narratives.
You’ll also identify growth opportunities within existing partnerships by proactively uncovering performance gaps and areas for expansion.
The role combines deep performance marketing expertise with consultative selling, technical storytelling, stakeholder management, and team development.
You’ll own the quality and evolution of the audit discipline, establishing repeatable standards, coaching contributors, and improving internal processes.
This is a high-impact, remote-first opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex marketing challenges and influencing strategic decisions with data.
- Own the technical audit discipline, ensuring assessments are appropriately scoped, evidence-based, repeatable, rigorous, and translated into commercially relevant recommendations.
- Lead the technical components of new-business pitches, audits, and requests for proposals, from back-end analysis through to client presentation.
- Analyze performance marketing accounts to diagnose challenges and opportunities across measurement, account structure, budgeting, targeting, creative, and overall performance.
- Translate account-level findings into prioritized recommendations, practical actions, and credible opportunities for business growth.
- Partner closely with Business Development to ensure proposals and presentations accurately reflect client needs, technical capabilities, and commercially relevant solutions.
- Lead complex technical conversations with senior and executive marketing stakeholders, clearly explaining findings, recommendations, trade-offs, and expected impact.
- Coordinate contributions from sales, strategy, media, creative, and data teams, managing scope, timelines, narrative, and quality throughout audit and RFP processes.
- Conduct proactive audits across existing client accounts to identify performance opportunities, demonstrate ongoing value, and support thoughtful account expansion.
- Identify recurring challenges and gaps revealed through audits and turn those insights into improvements to services, processes, and marketing solutions.
- Establish and maintain technical standards, methodologies, internal artifacts, and client-facing audit deliverables.
- Coach and develop contributors through hands-on training, direct feedback, quality reviews, and clear expectations for technical and client-facing work.
- Strengthen operational efficiency by developing repeatable workflows, improving audit processes, and ensuring recommendations remain aligned with actual delivery capabilities.
- Progress toward full ownership of technical client conversations, sales-driven audits, and RFPs, with increasing autonomy during the first 90 days.
- Proven experience directly managing and optimizing low-to-high complexity e-commerce and demand-generation accounts, including multimillion-dollar annual media investments.
- Hands-on experience working within active advertising accounts to diagnose measurement, structure, budgeting, targeting, creative, and performance challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end performance marketing audits, translating quantitative and qualitative evidence into prioritized recommendations and growth opportunities.
- Strong client-facing and consultative sales experience, with the ability to present and defend technical recommendations to senior and executive marketing stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary contributors across sales, strategy, media, creative, and data teams while maintaining ownership of scope, deadlines, narrative, and quality.
- Strong performance marketing expertise across relevant advertising platforms and channels, with a practical understanding of campaign execution and optimization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to move from complex account data to clear business recommendations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to make technical concepts understandable and commercially compelling.
- Demonstrated ability to strengthen internal operations through proactive audits, process improvements, repeatable standards, and contributor training.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build alignment across teams while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- High level of curiosity, ownership, and continuous-learning mindset, with a commitment to improving both technical expertise and client impact.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment and collaborate across distributed teams.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada; visa sponsorship is not provided for this role.
- Total compensation of $92,000–$120,000, plus benefits.
- New-hire starting salary range of $92,000–$105,000, with the full compensation band available as experience and performance progress in the role.
- Profit-sharing opportunity after one year of employment.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and paramedical coverage.
- Paid vacation and dedicated wellbeing time.
- Fully remote work environment across Canada.
- Flexible working hours within a typical Monday–Friday schedule.
- Career development support and access to internal career coaches.
- Opportunities for continuous learning, experimentation, and professional growth.
- Inclusive, diverse, and respectful workplace culture with accommodations available throughout the hiring process.
- Opportunity to work on high-impact performance marketing initiatives for ambitious companies across North America.
