Engineering Intern in Torrance, California at VERUS AEROSPACE

Position Summary

The Engineering intern’s primary role is to assist the engineering team with various tasks. Must be a currently enrolled student working on a part time basis. Must be an individual that is interested in gaining exposure to the day-to-day workings of aerospace engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with new part number introduction, including basic process planning, routing documentation, and time studies under engineer guidance.

• Help maintain process routers, work instructions, and SOPs for sheet metal forming and CNC machining, while shadowing shop floor troubleshooting and root cause activities.
• Support tooling/fixture research and assist with CNC program review and post-processing alongside senior engineers.
• Assist with AS9100D-compliant inspection documentation and gather data for non-conformance and corrective action investigations.
• Help coordinate with production planning and document control on engineering changes and revision updates, and maintain accurate records per company and customer requirements.
• Follow company policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned, with an emphasis on learning and skill development.

Education and Experience:

• Junior or Senior pursuing an Engineering degree or equivalent (Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace preferred)
• A minimum 3.0 GPA
• The ability to dedicate no more than 29 hours a week for on-site projects in Anaheim, CA

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Technical Skills:

• A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
• Solid skills in mathematics, statistics, engineering, graphics and procedural documentation
