Summary:
A Mechanical Drafter (DR) is responsible for inputting initial layouts and revising existing computer-aided design (CAD) files to meet Company or Client requirements. This role ensures strict adherence to project standards and established drafting procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creates and modifies CAD drawings accurately reflecting designer/engineering markups and adhering to Company/Client standards.
- Performs drafting and design tasks under direct supervision, ensuring proper technique and adherence to project requirements.
- Reviews drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company drafting standards.
- Ensures quality and timely completion of assigned deliverables.
- Assists with document control and organization of drawing files.
- Participates in drawing reviews and coordination meetings to integrate designs.
- Strictly adheres to all corporate safety protocols.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of mechanical drawing conventions and terminology.
- Basic proficiency with CAD and other relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CadWorx Plant, CadWorx P&ID, Isogen, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Google Earth).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to create and manipulate drawings using CAD software.
- Ability to organize and prioritize project workload.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Team player – able to communicate and relate well with others.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies or equipment up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to move around the office for daily tasks and meetings
