Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Perianesthesia (pre/PACU) Department in Bolivar, Missouri — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.

What Your Day Looks Like: ASC/ OP aids in surgery and recovery for our patients.

As a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Perianesthesia, you will get to care for a diverse population of patients. We strive to continuously educate and support each other in the advancement of critical thinking and proficiency in our skill set. You will be interviewing and preparing patients for the surgery, observing vital signs, sedating patients, keeping the patient informed throughout the duration of the procedure, completing all necessary documentation, including patient notes and discharge documents.

• Performing comprehensive patient assessments and reviewing pertinent medical histories, comorbidities, surgical consents, allergies, medications, and other relevant clinical information within the scope of practice.
• Screening patients for potential anesthesia and surgical risks and communicating identified concerns or changes in condition to the RN, anesthesiologist, surgeon, or appropriate member of the healthcare team.
• Completing medication reconciliation and verifying relevant preoperative information in accordance with established procedures and scope of practice.
• Preparing patients for surgical and procedural care by completing required preoperative nursing activities and providing education and emotional support.
• Implementing individualized nursing interventions in accordance with the established plan of care, provider orders, evidence-based practices, and applicable scope of practice.

Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited nursing program

Skills: Clinical expertise, quick decision-making, strong communication, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Licensure/Certification: RN or LPN

Physical Requirements: The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and to thrive in a fast-paced environment
