Schedule - Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm - At times will be required to work outside of standard hours.

Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a private, non-profit organization supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the HR department. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits, compliance, training, reporting, audits and employee engagement initiatives. The HR Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for employees and helps ensure HR processes run efficiently and accurately.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate job postings on various recruitment platforms.
  • Support scheduling interviews, candidate screening, reference and background checks.
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Coordinate and participate in job fairs.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and HR databases, complying with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Obtain required certifications to deliver employee training.
  • Provide support to employees for various HR initiatives and employee relations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
  • Assist with reporting and various audits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Perform general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong technology skills and a willingness to learn continuously.
  • Ability to obtain certification in various courses to train others.
  • Maintain professional working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Retain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while keeping the supervisor informed of daily operations.

Work Environment

  • Work primarily in an office setting and may travel within Connecticut as needed.
  • Occasionally support after-hours recruitment events, training or employee activities.
