POSITION DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Maintenance Associate

Department: Environmental Services – Notre Dame Village

Reports to: Director of Environmental Services

Position Information: Full Time, 8a-4:30pm, Monday-Friday

Position Description

This position assists with all aspects of building, grounds, and vehicle maintenance including unit inspections, preventative, scheduled, and emergency maintenance.

Essential Functions

1. Follow oral directions

1. Follow written directions

1. Understand major building systems

1. Make repairs to facility equipment and fixtures, including vehicle maintenance

1. Follow the preventative maintenance program

1. Train with the Maintenance Technician/Director of Environmental Serviceson HVAC equipment, electrical and plumbing andattainthe skills to independently perform these duties

1. Assistwithmaintainingthe overall condition of the building and grounds

1. Perform waste disposal proceduresin accordance withfacility policy

1. Attend in-service training programs

1. Be available and respond to facility emergencies includingon-callprocedures

1. Observe infection control procedures related to the Maintenance Department

1. Come to work as scheduled and consistentlydemonstratedependability and punctuality per the established schedule

1. Comply withsafety, fireprotectionand prevention programs by inspecting work areas and equipment in maintenance,laundryand housekeeping

1. Personally perform all maintenance tasks and functions, routine, emergency, preventative, and otherwise including unit inspections

1. Monitor all building systems to ensure continuous operations and efficient usage

1. Serveonan on-call basis and respond to campus, equipment, and building emergencies ona timelybasis. Carry cell phone and be available for emergency calls 24/7

1. Come to work as scheduled and consistentlydemonstratedependability and punctuality

1. Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED

1. Experience with major building systems maintenance

1. Knowledge of safety regulationspertaining tobuilding and life safety codes

1. HVAC certificationpreferred

1. Demonstrated or capable of learning electrical, plumbing, and carpentry skills

1. Understands and communicates job related information and directions in English
