WHO is Sound Generations?
We are a comprehensive non-profit organization that serves older adults and people with disabilities in King County. Our mission is to partner with older adults to provide accessible and inclusive services so they can age their way.
We are currently seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our Meals on Wheels team in Seattle, Washington.
What will YOU do?
The Meals on Wheels Volunteer Coordinator supports the recruiting, training, and management of more than 300 volunteers serving at 20 sites across King County. This position builds and maintains strong relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners while providing program support to help ensure eligible participants receive nutritious meals and meaningful social connections.
Pay Rate: $29.33 per hour.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week (8am-4:30pm).

Responsibilities:
- Recruit, on-board, and train program volunteers. Conduct and screen volunteer background checks.
- Regularly conduct site visits and build relationships with leaders of partner sites throughout King County.
- Coordinate and monitor program activities in relation to established program goals and within established program parameters.
- Direct the work of others and/or coordinate services of volunteers. Fill in as a Site Coordinator or other volunteer position as needed.
- Prepare training and/or promotional materials.
- Maintain customer relationship management database with volunteer contacts.
- Provide information and technical assistance to volunteers, staff, and program participants regarding program content, policies, and activities.
- Conduct research and analyze data to identify program needs and volunteer eligibility for continued program participation.
- Attend meetings and/or events as program representative.
- Troubleshoot complaints from clients or staff about volunteers.
- Plan and execute volunteer appreciation events and/or initiatives.
- Perform the work of lower classified positions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree OR Equivalent.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience working or volunteering in social and human services or related field.
