Summary
Provides all clerical support for the Unit. Processes and communicates physician orders and other information utilizing the hospital computer system. Functions as an internal member of the patient care team and represents UMMC in enhancing patient care through effective communication, teamwork and a commitment to customer service.

Hours Per Week: 24, Part-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday and weekends, day and night

Responsibilities
Daily Administration. Answer telephone/route calls, provide administrative support for nurses and physicians, sort and distribute mail; create work orders, HELPSTAR tickets and report any unit requirements to appropriate department; maintain inventory and supply levels for unit
Patient Care. Perform daily rounding of patients on unit, update whiteboards and ensure all safety measures are in place; respond to patient’s call for service as needed; maintain awareness of arrivals and discharges on unit
Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $17.25 - $19.75
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
