About the role

The CPP Advisor acts as the liaison between enrollment and center life, ensuring a smooth transition for new students into the program. This role provides pre-arrival engagement, coordinates arrival-day activities, and implements structured acclimation programming to enhance student retention and success. The CPP Advisor fosters a welcoming and supportive environment for incoming students, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for their Job Corps experience.

What you'll do

  • Conduct pre-arrival calls to new students, introducing them to assigned roommates and staff mentors to create an early sense of belonging.
  • Provide incoming students with critical information regarding center expectations, security protocols, behavior standards, and what to bring.
  • Ensure residential staff are prepared for new student arrivals, including room readiness, welcome signs, name placements, and welcome baskets with toiletries and snacks.
  • Plan and coordinate arrival day activities, including CPP Ambassador welcome parties, roommate introductions, center tours, and counselor social intakes.
  • Register students at the local SLATE Job Center to facilitate workforce engagement.
  • Develop and oversee Week 1 workshops and structured activities to acclimate new students to the program, both during and after training hours.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency required with 5 years of experience working with youth.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in student services, onboarding, or program coordination preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively across departments.
  • Valid driver’s license.

The pay range for this role is:
45,000 - 50,000 USD per year(St. Louis JCC Main)
