About This Position

As a Business Development Associate, you will play a central role in driving our origination strategy by identifying, engaging, and building relationships with wealth management firms and RIAs. This role requires a self-starter with strong communication skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to manage prospective relationships from initial outreach through the deal process. You will support members of the business development team (including Managing Partner, Managing Director, and VP) with organization, pipeline management, and execution.

Responsibilities Include

  • Target List Creation Conduct thematic and industry research to build and refine lists of high-priority prospects across the wealth management and RIA landscape.
  • Prospect Outreach Lead proactive calling and emailing campaigns to initiate conversations with firm owners, executives, and advisors. Build, refine, and monitor outreach campaigns
  • Relationship / Pipeline Management Nurture and manage relationships with prospects throughout the investment process, serving as a key point of contact. Support team with deal tracking, deal activities (pre + post-meeting), maintaining updated deal notes, and follow ups on next steps and meeting coordination.
  • Market Intelligence Track market developments, competitor activity, and industry trends to support origination strategies and inform internal discussions.
  • Deal Process Support Collaborate with investment team members to coordinate diligence, communications, and ongoing interactions with potential partners. Preparation of internal deal assets (i.e. firm information, notes, etc.), coordinating meeting logistics.
  • CRM & Data Management Maintain and Update Salesforce CRM. Ensure clean, accurate, and current data for reports and outreach.
  • Administrative Ops Handle scheduling, reschedules, and repetitive tasks (spreadsheet formatting, Egnyte uploads, Salesforce hygiene).

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2–5 years of post-college professional experience, ideally in business development, sales, or customer service within the wealth management, financial services, or private equity industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to draft polished written communications (internal & external), comfortable interfacing with senior executives.
    • Demonstrated ability to source and manage client or partner relationships.
    • Organized, detail-oriented, analytical. Able to manage multiple trackers, calendars, and workflows simultaneously without missing details. Precision with data entry, scheduling, and document prep.
    • Results and outcome driven; Proactive problem solver with the ability to lead projects to successful completion, resourceful in finding solutions, and comfortable working independently
    • CRM & Data Proficiency; Comfortable with Salesforce, Microsoft Suite, Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formatting).
    • Project & Task Management; ability to prioritize tasks and keep moving pieces aligned.
    • Tech-Savvy & Quick Learner; Ability to adapt to new platforms and systems quickly, with ability for leveraging tools to make processes more efficient. (Chat GPT)
    • Ability to juggle multiple moving parts with accuracy.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the wealth management landscape, including RIAs and independent advisor platforms, strongly preferred.
  • Mindset: Entrepreneurial, resourceful, tenacity, overcoming rejection, and motivated by growth. Proactive.
