Job Overview:
The 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor is tasked with leading the operational activities during their designated shifts, ensuring efficient inventory management and distribution in line with customer requirements. This role requires the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and organization within the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Handle daily operations of the logistics warehouse and supervise warehouse staff during the 2nd shift (noon to 8:30 pm) daily.
Oversee warehouse activity during 2nd shift for consistency, reliability and safety.
Monitor performance, lead and drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate across departments to ensure the highest level of customer service to internal and external partners.
Develop strong communication channels within the departments and across the operation to ensure a smooth transition from one shift to the next.
Provide continuous direction to Associates regarding proper work methods to help increase Associate performance and business productivity.
Engage, develop and motivate Associates in order to drive high performing individuals and teams.
Manage a safe and clean workplace by reinforcing accepted Company policies regarding housekeeping and safety. Promote Safety and Good Housekeeping Practices on a daily basis.
Inspire and foster an environment where diverse backgrounds are respected and valued.
Work with Operations Manager to forecast staffing needed to ensure workload demands are established to execute productivity.
Responsible for the daily reconciliation and accurate reporting of assigned associates’ hours. This includes the accurate recording of Production Data into a daily production report.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Input, review, monitor information in the Warehouse Management System.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: At least two years of experience supervising 10 to 30 hourly associates in a warehouse or similar environment.
Distribution experience requires.
Forklift certified or able to pass (will provide)
Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
Effective communication and public relations.
Ability to coordinate team activities efficiently.
Detail-oriented.
Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Capable of standing and walking for long periods.
Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation preferred.
Flexible to work various shifts as needed.
Physical Demands:
Supervisory Presence: Regular walking and standing to oversee warehouse operations, inspect inventory, and monitor staff performance.
Manual Handling: Occasional lifting, moving, and carrying of goods and equipment, which may involve weights up to 50 pounds.
Climbing and Reaching: Use of ladders or climbing equipment to access stored items or oversee operations, as well as reaching for items stored at various heights.
Computer Use: Frequent use of computers and handheld devices for inventory management, scheduling, and communication, necessitating manual dexterity.
Environmental Exposure: Work may involve exposure to warehouse environments, outdoor conditions, and all types of weather while managing operations in the yard.
