Job Description
Position Summary: Supports the Contracts team to be a best practice department with strong performance improvement system. Responsible for the ongoing management of assigned contracts for supplies and services. Works independently and as part of a Contracts Team, Supply Chain Team and larger interdepartmental team to establish long-term, healthy relationships with our vendors through the implementation of contracts. Prepares accurate and comprehensive decision support data, cost analytics, usage data, forecasting, benchmarking analysis, compliance reporting, and other associated data by using analytics platforms and Microsoft Excel. Objectively presents the compiled data to various hospital department leaders for decision-making. Facilitates the execution of contracts and performs accurate loading of contractual data, to include pricing, into the Lawson system and other PVHMC or third party contract platforms. Other responsibilities include the ongoing tracking of contracts for performance to goal, producing Requests for Proposals (RFP's) for various supplies and project related purchases. Liaisons between Purchasing, Finance and Accounts Payable to assist with problem resolution when necessary. Calls for credit to vendors where pricing delivered deviates from contracted costs. Produces product breach notices where contractual obligations are not met. Provides notification to terminate agreement as necessary. Engages in facilitating the appropriate analysis of operating lease vs. buy decisions. Ensures compliance with Materials Management policies & procedures. Assists Purchasing staff with resolving invoice discrepancies and item file maintenance. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and “Change Values” of PVHMC. May perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Associate’s Degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum 2 years of contract analytics experience, experience in contract negotiation and administration of bids or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Ability to learn and daily demonstrate a "Best Practice" approach to contracts and participate in continuous improvement of our contracting procedures. Excellent written and verbal communication and analytics skills. Ability to understand contract terms, conditions and be able to effectively negotiate edits to contract language. Excellent organization skills, business acumen and people skills. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities efficiently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal verbal communication and proficient writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s in Business Administration, Public Health or Supply Chain. Certified Value Analysis Healthcare Professional (CVAHP) Certified Materials and Resource Professional (CMRP). 5 years of contract analytics experience, 2+ years of healthcare purchasing experience, 5 years in contract negotiation and administration of bids in a healthcare environment. Possesses a professional level mastery of professional written and verbal communications. Possesses and understanding of legal terms. Has a mastery of contract terms and conditions and the ability to effectively negotiate contract terms. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities. Knowledge and experience with negotiating and implementing contracts as well as an understanding of the procurement cycle is required. Advanced proficiency skill level with computer- based analytical tools such as Excel and other database applications. Knowledge related to the use of Lawson MMIS software and GHX software.
Salary range: $38.40 - $54.04. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
