Patient Account Representative at Citizens Memorial – Bolivar, Missouri

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is hiring a Patient Accounts Representative to join our Hospital Patient Accounts Department! CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. Offering acute care, emergency services, ambulatory care, pharmacies, walk-in clinics, surgeries, addiction recovery, therapies and more, CMH has its community covered!

About the department: CMH Hospital Patient Accounts coordinates the collection of the hospital accounts on a timely basis to generate cash flow to levels that are compatible with the hospital mission.

A typical day will include: Assisting with patient account functions; auditing insurance claims for accuracy.

• Communicates with the coding department and authorization/referral teams as needed; completes all workflow queues in a timely manner.
• Communicates effectively with insurance companies regarding claim denials, follow-up and collections of accounts receivable.
• Resolves problems with self-pay accounts due to errors in Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance payments

Job Requirements:

• Education: HS diploma
• Experience: Six months to one-year experience in clerical and collection work
• Skills: organization, able to work in fast-paced environment, multitasking
• Licensure/Certification: N/A
• Physical: ability to work at a computer 90% of day and stand for the remaining 10%

The position is: Full Time, Days 8:00a.m-4:30p.m
