Starting Salary: $23.13/hour (currently under contract negotiations)

The Parkchester Police Department is actively seeking motivated and community-focused individuals interested in pursuing a meaningful and dynamic career in law enforcement. As a Patrol Officer, you will be part of a respected public safety team responsible for protecting and serving a diverse Bronx community of over 50,000 residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure public safety

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service

• Enforce New York State and New York City laws and Parkchester community rules

• Provides public safety by maintaining order, responding to emergencies, protecting people and property, enforcing motor vehicle and criminal laws, and promoting good community relations

• Provide assistance and support to residents, businesses, and visitors

• Records facts to prepare reports that document incidents and activities

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 21 years of age

• High school diploma or GED

• Valid NYS driver’s license

• U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency

• Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation

• Must meet New York State and New York City Special Patrolman requirements
