Crossing Guard (Part-Time) at TOWNSHIP OF MONTCLAIR – MONTCLAIR, New Jersey

Summary/Duties: The Township of Montclair Police Department is seeking School Crossing Guards to work two to four hours per day, according to assignments. The Crossing Guard regulates and directs the movement of school children at a street intersection, paying particular attention to their safety; assists and protects children at a street intersection; observes and reports unsafe traffic conditions at assigned street intersection and may make recommendations to improve these conditions. Notifies the proper authorities in cases requiring police action or medical attention; keeps and prepares reports as needed; responds to complaints and inquiries from the public.Requirements: Must have a valid New Jersey Driver's License. Must be able to work in various kinds of weather. The successful candidates will be required to successfully complete a criminal background check and a medical examination including a drug screen.Rate: Maximum hourly rate is $24.34; salary commensurate with experience. Part-time, not to exceed twenty-one (21) hours per week.Closing Date: Open until filled.
