The Director, Social Media will be responsible for developing and executing engaging social content strategies while managing the full creative process from concept through publication. This role requires strong creative instincts, production expertise, and the ability to use audience insights to continuously improve performance.
- Create, film, edit, and publish original content across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging social channels.
- Develop platform-specific content strategies for both static and video formats while maintaining a consistent brand voice.
- Produce short-form video content, including self-shot and on-location footage, optimized for audience engagement.
- Monitor social, cultural, and digital trends to identify relevant opportunities for timely content creation.
- Analyze performance metrics and audience behavior to determine which content strategies should be expanded, adjusted, or retired.
- Partner with social leadership and marketing teams to execute channel strategies and achieve engagement and growth goals.
- Manage content calendars, publishing schedules, captions, and daily community engagement activities.
- Write compelling, platform-native copy that aligns with brand messaging and audience expectations.
- Support production logistics, including coordinating talent, scheduling shoots, organizing footage, and collaborating with creative partners.
- Work with design teams to adapt content across formats and stay current with new tools, platforms, and creative approaches.
The ideal candidate is a creative social media professional with strong content production skills, a deep understanding of online culture, and experience growing digital audiences. They should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and using data to guide creative decisions.
- 4+ years of experience creating social media content, with a portfolio or reel demonstrating original work that has been filmed, edited, and published.
- Strong video production and editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or equivalent platforms.
- Deep understanding of social media platforms, content formats, algorithms, and audience engagement strategies.
- Strong awareness of internet culture, emerging trends, and the behaviors of younger digital audiences.
- Proven ability to grow engagement and audience following on at least one social platform.
- Excellent storytelling, copywriting, and creative communication skills.
- Ability to analyze social performance data and translate insights into actionable content decisions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and publishing schedules.
- Comfortable working both behind and in front of the camera.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience hosting or appearing on camera as a creator or spokesperson.
- Background in community management or creator/influencer partnerships.
- Personal experience building and growing a content audience.
- Experience or strong interest in design and visual storytelling.
- Competitive salary range based on location, experience, qualifications, and business needs:
- Tier A: $67,500 - $88,600 annually
- Tier B: $73,600 - $96,500 annually
- Tier C: $79,600 - $104,500 annually
