Catering Server in Syracuse, New York at Friends of Rosamond

Position Description: Responsible for supporting all aspects of catered events – including setup, execution, and teardown – while working collaboratively with the CATZ team to ensure seamless operations and provide an exceptional guest experience.

Responsible to: Event Manager

Essential Job Functions:

• Set up event spaces, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, linens, décor, buffet stations, and service areas.
• Adhere to all information provided in BEO.
• Follow directions, guidance, and assignments provided by Event Lead while simultaneously possessing the ability to work independently.
• Responsible for prep work for all events, including but not limited to, polishing silverware and glassware, folding napkins, rolling silverware, cleaning equipment, and gathering necessary supplies.
• Provide professional and attentive service at an elevated level to clients and guests.
• Anticipate guest, client, and team needs by having foresight and stepping into various roles as needed.
• Serve food and beverages in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Assist with food running, buffet maintenance, table clearing, and general event space upkeep.
• Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked service areas when applicable.
• Work collaboratively with FOH, BOH, and Management to ensure smooth event execution.
• Clean up event spaces, including but not limited to, tables, chairs, linens, décor, and floor maintenance.
• Maintain a polished appearance and adhere to company’s uniform and grooming standards.

• Adheres to Zoo policies and protocols.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Performs other duties as requested by Event Manager and/or Event Lead.

Education/Experience Requirements:

• Two years’ serving experience.
• Food and beverage experience preferred.

• Customer service oriented; Team player; Self-motivated; Able to work in fast paced environment; Able to handle difficult customers.

• Able to lift moderate to heavy items (50-75 pounds); Continuous standing and walking while carrying items; Shifts may include days, nights and / or weekends.
