Travel RN- Med/Surg Oncology 12hr Nights *Increased Rate* in Peoria, Illinois at Fidelity On Call, LTD

The Medical-Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to adult patients with cancer and other acute or chronic medical conditions. The RN is responsible for assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, administering medications and treatments, managing symptoms, monitoring changes in condition, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Responsibilities
Assess patients and monitor changes in condition.
Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care.
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments.
Monitor patients for treatment-related side effects and complications.
Provide symptom management, including pain, nausea, fatigue, and nutritional concerns.
Care for central venous access devices, ports, drains, wounds, and other medical devices.
Follow established safety procedures when handling hazardous medications and bodily fluids.
Recognize and respond promptly to oncologic and other medical emergencies.
Provide preoperative and postoperative nursing care when applicable.
Support patients and families throughout diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and end-of-life care.
Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, symptom management, and discharge needs.
Coordinate care with oncologists, pharmacists, case managers, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Complete timely and accurate documentation.
Follow all patient-safety and infection-prevention standards.

Qualifications
Active RN license for the state of practice.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
ACLS certification if required by the facility.
Minimum of one year of recent Medical-Surgical or Oncology nursing experience.
Chemotherapy or biotherapy certification if required by the facility.
Experience caring for patients with cancer and treatment-related complications.
Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, symptom-management, and emergency-response skills.
