Assistant Superintendent

Description

The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the field office and the project. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Superintendent to ensure that all construction and quality activities are carried out efficiently and effectively, meeting the high standards set by the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Superintendent in managing the daily operations of the onsite construction department
  • Ensure all construction activities meet the organization's high standards
  • Oversee and coordinates and directs all trades on the project, including subcontractors according to Superintendents direction.
  • Maintains and distributes up-to-date drawings and specifications
  • Monitor inventory and order necessary supplies and equipment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of all quality assurance and safety for the project
  • Conduct regular inspections of work in progress to ensure that all workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedule
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Listens and follows instructions well
  • Assist with lay out, lines, grades, and anchor bolts
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or educational equivalent years of experience required
  • A minimum of 3 years in the construction trade experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional strategies
  • Proficient in computer knowledge, Procore, Blue beam and excel
  • College degree
Travel Requirements:
  • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs, to attend meetings, training courses, and events.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance during business trips.
  • Compliance with company travel policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer, phone, printer, scanner, and other office equipment.
  • Visual acuity for detailed work and computer use
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds of files, documents, and materials.
