Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist in Bolivar, Missouri at Citizens Memorial

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO is seeking a Lab Assistant to join our staff at the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 long-term care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the Department: The Laboratory Services Department at CMH provides accurate and timely testing essential for diagnosing and treating both inpatient and outpatient conditions.

A typical day will include: Collecting and processing blood samples for the laboratory, acting as department receptionist, and filing and maintaining records.

• Collects specimens utilizing correct equipment and within specified timeframes
• Logs, prepares, and sends specimens to reference laboratory as indicated
• Calls, faxes, and / or sends test results to physicians as needed
• Greets and directs incoming patients to appropriate areas, answers incoming calls, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel
• Cleans equipment and work areas and stocks supplies

Job Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience: One or more years of experience performing phlebotomy duties is preferred
• Skills: Organization, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, customer service
• Licensure/Certification: Phlebotomy certification is preferred
• Physical: Standing for the majority of the work day

The position is: Part-time days between 8am-4:30pm; 48 hours every 2 weeks
