Description:

As the EHS Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our facilities are in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, and our employees are working in a safe and healthy environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and implement health and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Conduct regular workplace health and safety assessments and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage the company's hazardous waste program, including collection, storage, transportation, and disposal.
  • Maintain compliance records and help prepare reports for DEP/EPA permitting requirements.
  • Monitor wastewater treatment sampling
  • Monitor and ensure compliance in all facets related to air and water permit.
  • Act as liaison between Brightsmith and EPA/DEP
  • Work closely with environmental consultants (in person 1 every other week) to prepare compliance documents
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and education on health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all health and safety activities, including training records and accident reports.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in health and safety regulations and ensure the company is in compliance.
  • Lead the company's emergency response team and develop emergency response plans.
  • Lead each safety committee for all locations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science,Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification
  • Experience in a safety role within manufacturing, construction, or similar industries
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in safety management software
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health, safety, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
