Pay Range

$96,000.00-$132,000.00 Annual

This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.

Johns Manville is seeking a Plant Senior EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) Specialist to support a strong safety culture and environmental compliance at our plant in Hazleton, PA. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who enjoys driving continuous improvement, influencing safe work practices, and partnering across operations and corporate teams.

In this role, you will lead plant-level EHS initiatives, support compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements, and help advance our goal of a zero-harm workplace. You will work closely with plant leadership, the divisional safety team, and regional environmental partners to strengthen programs, training, and performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support plant safety and environmental programs, policies, and compliance activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, investigations, and root cause analysis to reduce hazards and prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with plant operations and corporate teams to implement proactive EHS strategies, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and monitoring systems to meet company and regulatory requirements.
  • Support waste management, permitting, environmental monitoring, and site-level compliance activities, as applicable.
  • Coordinate EHS training, safety committee activities, and follow-up actions to help drive site performance.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Strong investigation, root cause analysis, training, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, OHST, SMS, CEM, or CHMM are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a plant environment, including occasional on-call support and limited travel.
