Description:

The Maintenance Technician - Preventative Maintenance & Operations Reliability is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of all production and facility equipment. This role combines hands-on technical skills with a proactive approach to maintenance, focusing on preventive measures to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency. The technician will work closely with the operations team to identify potential issues and implement solutions that enhance equipment reliability and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety & Compliance:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits of equipment and systems, addressing any identified hazards.

Preventative Maintenance:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for all equipment and systems.
  • Perform scheduled inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and repairs to prevent equipment failures and extend equipment life.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.

Operations Reliability:

  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability metrics, identifying trends and potential areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with operations staff to understand production needs and ensure that equipment is operating efficiently and reliably.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Technical Expertise:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment.
  • Install, modify, and upgrade equipment as needed to meet production requirements.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades, modifications, and replacements based on performance data and operational needs.
  • Train operators and other maintenance staff on best practices for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • All other duties assigned by management
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in a related field preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles, practices, and tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work overtime or weekends on short notice as needed; provide on-call service when required
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, possible working at heights and work in confined spaces
  • Strong mathematics and computer skills
  • Properly follow written and verbal operating and LOTO procedures; complete work within given deadlines
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and problems effectively
  • Maintain excellent attendance habits

Working Conditions:

  • Stand on feet up to 8 hours
  • Ability to perform without reasonable accommodation: walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, twisting, and lifting a minimum 55 lbs. or more
  • Willing and able to comply with respiratory fit testing
  • Must be able to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include: heat, cold, dust, strong odors, and loud noises with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including long pants, long sleeves, steel-toed boots, gloves, hard hat, safety goggles, earplugs, and a respirator are required to be worn.
