About Rewiring America

Rewiring America is the leading electrification nonprofit, focused on electrifying our homes, businesses, and communities. We develop accessible, actionable data and tools, and build coalitions and partnerships to make going electric easier for households and communities. Rewiring America helps Americans save money, tackle nationwide emissions goals, improve health, and build the next generation of the clean energy workforce. We believe in an abundant, flourishing, climate-safe future, and know that, together, we can realize one.

About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and motivated Advancement Coordinator to join our fundraising team. Reporting to the Vice President of Advancement, this role serves as the administrative backbone of Rewiring America’s fundraising team. The Advancement Coordinator will maintain records in our CRM, process gifts, support funder meetings and event logistics, send timely acknowledgements, manage team calendars, and more. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the donor pipeline and helping Rewiring America meet our ambitious fundraising objectives in service of our mission to electrify everything.

What you'll do

  • Fundraising Operations & Data Management: Enhance and maintain effective systems for tracking donor information and measuring progress against revenue goals to ensure data integrity. This includes designing and pulling reports from Salesforce to help the Advancement team analyze and track fundraising efforts, deadlines and outreach. Ensure all contact and interaction data is well-maintained and up to date.
  • Donor Stewardship: Process gifts, send timely acknowledgements to donors, and keep the team updated on new funding received. Ensure all donations (mail, online, Benevity and Donor Advised Funds) are properly documented and fundraising files are well organized. Conduct weekly donation reconciliation in partnership with Finance to maintain accurate gift records.
  • Event & Meeting Coordination: Attend fundraising related meetings and produce action-oriented notes capturing next steps. Assist with the operational aspects of donor-focused events, including managing the invitation processes, RSVP lists, and comprehensive guest relationship management.
  • Communication: Manage fundraising distribution list(s) including email updates, newsletters, and all other relevant donor distribution lists.
  • Administrative Support: Manage the Advancement team calendar and assist with scheduling meetings with donors as needed.

Who you are

The incoming Advancement Coordinator will be driven by a commitment to Rewiring America’s values, vision, and mission. You bring genuine enthusiasm for data, donor relations, and fundraising operations. You are highly organized, thrive in ambitious environments, and take initiative without waiting to be directed. You are comfortable defining your own path forward, building systems from scratch, and managing competing priorities with minimal oversight. This role is well suited for someone with an interest in growing toward frontline fundraising, nonprofit operations, or management.

We are looking for meticulous attention to detail and a learner’s mindset, with the judgement to know that a high-functioning, trusting team is what makes our mission possible. The selected candidate will also possess the following Core and Preferred qualifications and characteristics:

  • Proficient in Salesforce or a comparable CRM.

  • Motivated to capture donor information that advances our fundraising efforts and stays up to date on current trends in the philanthropic landscape.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely and collaboratively with an array of team members, including staff, executive leadership, and donors.
  • Adaptable and effective in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent
  • Background working in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, business development, sales, or customer service
  • Institutional knowledge in climate, environmental advocacy, policy, renewable energy, and/or building electrification
