About the Role

The Plumbing Superintendent is responsible for leading all field operations for industrial plumbing and process piping construction projects. This position oversees installation activities, workforce coordination, safety, quality, scheduling, and project execution to ensure work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The Plumbing Superintendent works closely with project managers, subcontractors, and field teams to deliver high-quality plumbing and piping systems, including mission-critical and data center projects.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Lead and supervise all plumbing and process piping field operations, including pipe fabrication, installation, testing, and system turnover
  • Coordinate daily activities of field crews, subcontractors, and trade partners to maintain project schedules
  • Plan labor, equipment, and material needs to maximize productivity and project efficiency
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with project specifications, plumbing codes, and company quality standards
  • Promote and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies across all job sites
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment staging, and installation sequencing
  • Support pressure testing, system flushing, disinfection, and commissioning activities for plumbing and process piping systems
  • Identify and resolve field issues related to pipe routing, underground utilities, constructability, and trade coordination
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, safety documentation, testing records, and project documentation
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, owners, and field leadership to drive successful project outcomes
  • Mentor and develop field personnel while promoting continuous improvement, accountability, and a strong safety culture
What You Need
  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • OSHA 30 Certification required
  • Journeyman or Master Plumber license preferred; Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in industrial plumbing and process piping construction
  • 3+ years of experience leading field operations as a Superintendent or Foreman
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, process piping, installation methods, and applicable plumbing codes (IPC/UPC)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, piping isometrics, shop drawings, and project specifications
  • Experience with Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software preferred
  • Experience with mission-critical, industrial, or data center piping systems is highly preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and delivering exceptional project results
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily field-based on active industrial and commercial construction sites
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, work in trenches, mechanical rooms, utility areas, and varying construction environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather and job site conditions
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Travel between project sites with occasional overnight travel as project needs require
