Job Description

Human Resource Analyst

The HR analyst role requires the individual to be familiar with all HR processes and workflows. Additionally, it involves working with enormous amounts of HR data and collaborating with the HR manager to help them make informed decisions. The Human Resource Analyst collects, compiles, and analyzes HR data, metrics, and statistics, and applies this data to make recommendations related to recruitment, retention, payroll, and legal compliance that help streamline processes. This position is versatile and may handle employee data, coordinate employee benefits, and incentives, manage hiring process, and conduct onboarding of new hires. The Human Resource Analyst reports directly to the HR Manager or as otherwise designated.

Roles:

  • New Hire process: responsible for all hourly employees offer letters, background checks, drug screens, physicals, Onboarding documents, HR Orientation and hiring paperwork.
  • Analyst: Compile HR data and metrics from Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs.
  • Reporting: Assist with reporting for HR, Training, and Power BI as needed.
  • Payroll: Collect payroll reports and analyze data to ensure alignment with labor budgets and accurate job cost coding.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Prepare or maintain employment records related to events, such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software.
  • Utilize HR software and tools to manage and analyze data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, and post information onto designated records.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date HRIS data for the company in ADP Workforce Now®.
  • Responsible for maintaining and processing all hourly employee changes, including personal information, pay changes, work locations, etc.
  • Responsible for the recruiting and onboarding process with new employees.
    • Assist with setting up drug tests, physicals, safety training, and coordinating with safety for new employees PPE.
    • HR items include but are not limited to ensuring all documents are completed, photocopies uploaded, I-9s completed.
    • Assist in the New Hire Orientation process ensuring new employees are set up for success from day one.
  • Assist in addressing employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns.
  • Submits new-employee background checks and follows up on any issues with management.
  • Responsible for analyzing reports in ADP and verifying payroll information.
  • Coordinate’s administration of unemployment claims and employment verifications.
  • Supports affirmative action policies, applicant tracking and reporting.
  • Assists with processing of terminations, including coordination with management, IT and payroll to ensure proper compliance of federal and state laws.
  • Assists with recruitment and interview process. Posts jobs internally and externally as directed, maintains candidate pools, tracks status of candidates and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitors practices, and other sources.
  • Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
  • Prepares reports of timecard data and provide reports to leadership as needed.
  • May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt per FLSA guidance.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • May guide and/or assist with performance, benefit, and compensation review and evaluation processes.
  • Track and issue boot and safety glasses vouchers to new hires and existing employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements: (list preferred and required qualifications)

  • BS/BA in Business Management, Human Resources, Operations Management, or other degree with combination of relevant work experience (preferred).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with or the ability to learn the organizations HRIS (ADP), payroll, and similar employee management software.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license.
  • Must pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test, physical and background check.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds
