About This Position
St. Louis County, Minnesota is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as its Public Health and Human Services (PHHS) Division Director for the Economic Services and Supports (ESS) Division. The Division Director for Economic Services and Supports is a key member of the Senior Leadership team responsible for public assistance and Child Support operations, budget, contracts, program compliance and quality control.
The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2025. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $44.79 - $65.11 per hour.
This position is part of the Merit Supervisory Contract represented by the Arrowhead Public Service Union.
St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

An employee in this class is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the assigned human service/public health functions. Duties include managing a major human
service or public health area within the Department; assisting the Director in assessing social issues affecting our communities, identifying core functions, assessing citizen satisfaction, interpreting policies, participating in committee/projects at local and state levels; and promoting and implementing the mission, vision, and values of the Department. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in public health, social work, sociology, psychology, business administration or a closely related field AND three (3) years of responsible supervisory or administrative experience in human service programs; OR equivalent education and experience as determined by the director of human resources.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.

TENTATIVE RECRUITMENT & SCREENING PROCESS SCHEDULE:
- September 11, 2025 - Applicant screening will begin

- Week of October 6, 2025 - Interviews to be conducted
