Section 2: Position Purpose

The GL/AUTO Claim Coordinator will assist in the areas of General Liability, Auto Liability, and related exposures, vehicle safety, and the Employee Damage Program. Will be responsible for claims intake, monitoring and administration, report generation, and communication with employees, managers, insurance carriers, and medical staff. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with two to four (2-4) years of related experience.

DIRECT DUTIES:

Function with autonomy, diplomacy and professionalism within the guidelines established by this organizationReport on all information pertaining to all key indicators of the organization to include but not be limited to Fleet, Insurance & Liability exposures as it relates to this specific job descriptionAdminister the principles of short- and long-range planning to anticipate and avoid issuesUtilize the support staff to the best interests of this organizationAct as a liaison, Team Leader and link communication between the Vice President of Insurance/ Corporate Compliance Officer, management and support staffFunction with the highest esteem in dealing with all employees, clients and consumers of this organizationMaintain a high level of confidentialityAdminister the principles of short- and long-range planning to anticipate and avoid issuesPromote the organization, “TEAM SPIRIT”, harmony and an image of high professional esteem
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:
Primary intake of all GL/AUTO claimsEstablish and maintain strict adherence to approved work schedule.Input new claim loss data into applicable claim systemsEvaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess riskInvestigate accidents or incidents to discover causesRecommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measuresReport on health and safety awareness, issues, and statisticsInspect Quality on job sitesAttend Safety Committee meetings either remotely or in person.Request information from or provide information to injured workers, employers, providers, attorneys, co-workers, state regulatory boardsInitiate contact with clients or policy holders on applicable claims to triage losses and confirm facts of loss, request additional information and/or seek missing critical data elementsHandle incoming phone calls and/or electronic/written inquiries from Clients, Claimants, Providers and Agents/Brokers relating to questions or problems associated with claimsProvide professional customer service to all internal and external customersMaintain organization of claim files with accurate and timely documentation of work activityManage various avenues of loss reporting: e-mail, e-reporting, telephone, fax, or U.S. MailMay be called upon to assist with special projects or other tasks not specifically listed in this job description.

Job Qualifications.


Education and Experience:

High-School diploma or GED required; College degree preferredTwo or more years of general insurance, claim department operations, or related experience preferredExperience directly related to OSHA reporting, OSHA certification preferred.Results driven with demonstrated problem-solving and basic investigative skillsStrong analytical skills; proven ability to collect and analyze data and trends; ability to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendationsExcellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact with a variety of audiences effectivelyStrong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportationWillingness to continue education to stay current with the changing regulations
