Job Description
Fort Collins, CO · In-office · Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm MST
At Madwire, our mission is to help small businesses grow and their local communities glow. Marketing Success Managers are a big part of how we do that.
As an MSM, you'll partner with 30–50 small business owners and manage their marketing on our Marketing 360® platform. You won't have to find clients yourself, because our sales team brings them to us. Your job is to help those businesses succeed so they stay with us for the long haul. You'll meet with your clients regularly to share results, talk through strategy, and get to know their businesses well enough to advise them on what comes next. Sometimes that means recommending new services, so people who enjoy consulting and selling tend to do well here.
Success in this role is measured by client retention and account growth.
What You'll Do
- Build and manage marketing strategies across paid search, social, SEO/AIO, websites, and more
- Meet with business owners to review progress, present strategy, and understand their goals
- Recommend services that will help each client grow
- Work with our designers and ad specialists to bring your strategies to life
- Use AI tools to work faster and smarter day to day
What It Takes
This is a challenging yet rewarding role. It moves fast, and no two days look the same. You'll balance dozens of clients, shifting priorities, and a steep learning curve, especially early on. Your clients are small businesses and local entrepreneurs across the U.S., and many of them work with tight marketing budgets. Part of the job is getting the most out of every dollar and helping owners understand what's realistic for their budget. Digital marketing also involves a lot of testing, and not every campaign works the first time. The MSMs who succeed treat those moments as data, not defeat. They stay calm in tough client conversations and keep moving forward.
If you like solving problems, learning something new every week, and owning your results, you'll feel right at home here. And you won't be doing it alone: you'll have coaching, training, and a team behind you.
What You'll Bring
- Customer-facing experience in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort building relationships and having honest conversations with customers
- Strong tech skills and curiosity about new tools, including AI
- The ability to learn quickly and work independently
- Self-motivation and a strong work ethic
Marketing, agency, or business experience is a big plus, since you'll be advising business owners. It isn't required, though. We provide extensive training, and we care a lot about attitude and effort.
Training
New MSMs are trainees for 2–3 months and start working on real accounts as early as their first month. You'll train in the office alongside experienced MSMs, shadowing live calls and getting coaching as you go. If you have direct industry experience, you may move through training faster.
Compensation
The role pays a $30,000 base salary plus a commission guarantee, so total pay is at least $50,000 a year starting on day one. Beyond that, commission is uncapped and grows with your book of business. There are also bonuses for strong retention and upselling. Our highest-performing MSMs earn six figures.
Growth
MSMs build real leadership skills by managing client relationships, coordinating internal teams, and owning results. Many of our leaders started in this role.
