Part-Time School Nurse in Kansas City, Missouri at St Peter Catholic Church Kansas City

St. Peter Catholic School, in the Brookside neighborhood of Kansas City, MO, is seeking a part-time school nurse. The nurse will be responsible for first-line healthcare of the students. This position reports to the principal.

Essential Duties

• Provide emergency first aid and other minor health services to students in a school setting
• Administer student health records and assists parents with simple medication dispensation
• Maintain confidentiality as is relates to student health records
• Perform a wide variety of student health care activities including skilled nursing care to students, CPR and first aid as needed, regular review of possible health care problems, and general awareness of developments in the health care field as they apply to the school setting
• Administer medications and provides patient care activities within the scope accorded by licensure
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Possession of certifications, licenses and insurance compliant with all State and diocesan policies and laws is required
• Ideal candidate will have at least one year of nursing experience in a school setting
