This role offers an exciting opportunity for an early-career analyst to step into the fast-growing field of Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps), where technology, finance, and engineering intersect. You will help monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud spending across large-scale environments while contributing to financial transparency and operational efficiency. Working within a collaborative, cross-functional team, you will support cloud cost governance, forecasting, and reporting initiatives. The position is ideal for someone curious about cloud platforms and passionate about data-driven decision-making. You will interact with engineering, product, and finance stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial visibility. This is a highly analytical and impactful role in a dynamic, remote-first environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting cloud financial management activities by building visibility into cloud usage and costs, contributing to forecasting processes, and enabling optimization opportunities across the organization. You will:
- Create and maintain dashboards to track cloud spend against budgets and forecasts
- Analyze cloud cost data to identify savings opportunities such as right-sizing, elasticity improvements, and commitment-based discounts
- Support the development of financial forecasts incorporating usage trends, product growth, and infrastructure needs
- Build and track KPIs to measure cloud cost efficiency and financial performance over time
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and product teams to support cost optimization initiatives
- Provide insights and recommendations on cloud spending trends, risks, and anomalies
The ideal candidate brings foundational experience or strong interest in cloud financial management, along with analytical and technical skills. You should be comfortable working with data, learning cloud environments, and collaborating across teams. Specifically, you have:
- Experience or exposure to FinOps or cloud cost management practices
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their pricing models
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with cloud cost tools such as AWS Cost Explorer, CloudHealth, or Apptio
- Knowledge of FinOps principles and cloud financial governance frameworks
- Strong problem-solving mindset with critical thinking and curiosity
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and remote environments
